Important Notice:

In Ontario, all accidents with damage exceeding $700.00 must be reported. If there are no injuries, disputes or criminal activities, the police will ask the drivers to remove the vehicle from the roadway, exchange information and report within 24 hours to a reporting centre. If a tow truck is necessary, your car will be towed to the nearest centre. At the centre, advice will be given to the motorist on filling a report form. An inspection of the vehicle is done and stickers are attached to the damaged areas. The motorist is then free to drive away (or be towed) to the collision shop he/she chooses (this is your right, although in some instances, you may be referred to an insurance company- or adjuster-recommended shop. Insist on your rights to have your vehicle repaired where you choose!).
